We are thrilled to share with you the incredible journey of Hamzeh Al Hussain, a Syrian refugee who has defied all odds and become a performer in the new show Penguin, debuting at Live Theatre Newcastle.

Hamzeh’s story is one of resilience, determination, and the power of the human spirit. After escaping war-torn Syria, he found himself in Gateshead, UK, facing numerous challenges as a disabled person. But instead of letting his disability define him, Hamzeh chose to rise above it and pursue his passion for performance.

The show Penguin tells the real-life experiences of Hamzeh and his incredible journey. Through music, dance, and storytelling, the audience is taken on a rollercoaster of emotions, witnessing Hamzeh’s triumphs and struggles.

Hamzeh’s story is not only inspiring but also serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy and understanding. It sheds light on the experiences of refugees and the obstacles they face when starting a new life in a foreign country.
