Industry | Music Video Filmed At Redcar Blast Furnace | Red Stamp Productions

Before the Redcar Blast Furnace came down, we were lucky enough to film one of the last creative projects ever made inside it — a music video set against the backdrop of Teesside’s steelmaking past.

The blast furnace wasn’t just a building. For decades, it was the heart of the community, employing thousands and shaping the identity of the North East. Stepping inside, you could feel that history in every beam, every shadow, every piece of rusting machinery. Knowing it was about to be demolished gave the shoot a weight that’s hard to put into words.

Filming in a Space That Won't Exist Again

Access was tight, and the conditions were challenging, but that’s what made it special. We filmed on the Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro, using the vast industrial space for wide, cinematic shots, while also pulling in closer moments to contrast the music against the scale of the furnace. The atmosphere inside did half the work for us — it was a location full of grit, ghosts and stories.

Kit came via Focus Canning, and as always, we brought everything together in-house at Red Stamp Post, grading and mixing until it felt as raw and powerful as the place itself.

Why it Mattered

This wasn’t just about a music video. It was about capturing a moment before it disappeared. The Redcar Blast Furnace is gone now, but having filmed there, we feel we’ve helped preserve a piece of its legacy — not through nostalgia, but by giving it one last life on screen.
